We have detected fraudulent activities, including phishing links impersonating Matrixport. This incident seriously endangered our potential users’ asset security and the Matrixport brand.
As soon as we became aware of such fraudulent attempts, the Matrixport security team set up a special investigation team to conduct rigorous investigations. We took necessary measures to detect and delete phishing sources impersonating Matrixport and, as of this announcement, we have completed removing and deleting all phishing websites and communities relevant to our brand.
Security incidents in the crypto industry, as well as the overall financial community, occur frequently and the methods are endless. To protect yourself from fraudulent schemes, we recommend:
- Individuals exercise caution and do thorough due diligence when engaging with any digital asset service provider;
- Always question about unrealistically high returns and be wary of all kinds of phishing websites and apps; and
- Relay on information shared by official brand sources and do not rely on third-party promotions, unless it is verifiable over the official Matrixport sources.
