1.What is Perpetual Trading?
Perpetual trading is a type of cryptocurrency derivative that allows traders to take long or short positions on an underlying asset. Like futures, they offer traders additional flexibility, such as leverage and the ability to settle contracts without owning the underlying asset.
Perpetual trading can continue indefinitely, provided traders have sufficient margin to cover losses and avoid liquidation.
2.How to find perpetual trading in Matrixport?
- Click the Banner at the top of the homepage.
- Click the "Perpetual" icon at the top of the homepage.
- Click the "Trade" tab at the bottom and switch to "Perp" .
3.How to open OKX trading account in Matrixport ?
Click on the ‘WALLET’ tab at the bottom and click ‘Open’. After answering all the questions shown, please carefully read and agree the terms to open the account.
4.How to trade perpetual in Matrixport ?
4.1 Transfer in & Transfer out OKX trading account
Entry 1:
Click on the ‘WALLET’ tab at the bottom, switch to OKX Wallet and click on "Deposit" (transfer from Matrixport to OKX trading account) or "Withdraw" (transfer from OKX trading account to Matrixport).
Entry 2:
Go to the perpetual trading page, click on the "Transfer" button to transfer assets from your Matrixport wallet to your OKX trading account.
Select the transfer direction and currency, enter the transfer amount, the estimated fee will be displayed at the bottom, please carefully read and agree to the "Broker trading product Agreement" and "Risk warning" shown at the bottom of the page. Then click the "Confirm" button to initiate the on-chain transfer. Once the transfer is initiated, it cannot be withdrawn, you can wait until it is completed before initiating the transfer in reverse. You can view the transfer history by clicking on it.
On-chain Transfer:Transfer fee is needed when on-chain transferring from Matrixport to OKX trading account. The expected time varies from chain to chain, for example, USDT(TRC20) usually arrives in 3 minutes; BTC and ETH usually arrives in 10 minutes to a few hours.
Accelerated Service:With the accelerated service, the transfer is expected to be completed within 15 seconds; the accelerated service is achieved through lending and requires a capital cost, therefore a fee will be charged. There is no charge for failed acceleration and it does not affect the current progress of the transfer.
Acceleration fee: (Transfer amount - Transfer fee) * Accelerate fee rate
Note: During the promotion period, the system will automatically choose to utilize the accelerated service because of the waiver of the accelerated service fee. After the promotion period, you will be free to choose whether or not to use the accelerated settlement service.
4.2 Click here and select the contract you want to trade.
4.3 Your current trading fee & level and detailed trading fee rules can be viewed by clicking this icon.

4.4 Select margin model (Cross/ Isolated), adjust leverage, and margin account mode.
Currently, single-currency margin mode is the only mode supported, more margin account modes will be available soon, please stay tuned.
Click on the "+" "-" buttons, or enter directly in the input box or click below to adjust the leverage multiplier.
4.5 Select ‘Buy’ or ‘Sell' ,order type (Limit order / Market order)and enter the price and amount.
4.6 Select ‘Reduce-only’ or ‘TP/ SL’
Reduce-only:Reduce-only orders only allow reducing your current position. If an order potentially increases your positions, it will be auto-reduced or canceled.
TP/ SL: Take-profit and stop-loss is a type of strategic ordering, you can preset the stop order price for the current order. Latest price, index price or mark price can also be selected to trigger the TP/ SL.
4.7 After confirming the above information, click on the "Buy" or "Sell" button, please double check the key information, click the "Confirm" button. You can view the pending orders in the "Orders" tab at the bottom, and pending orders that have not been filled can be withdrawn by clicking “Cancel” to revoke the order.
4.8 After a pending order is filled, you can view the order details in the "Positions" tab at the bottom, such as margin, PnL, ROE, Estimated liquidation price, etc. You can also set SL/TP, adjust leverage, and close the position by entering the closing price and amount, or choose “Close All” to close all positions under the market price.
4.9 View Open & Historical Orders
Click on the clock icon on the right side to view all current open orders and historical orders (excluding canceled orders without any fills).
