Setting Up Microsoft Authenticator
Microsoft Authenticator enhance the security of your online accounts by adding an extra layer of protection. To set up the authenticator, please follow the following steps:
1.Download Microsoft Authenticator. You can download the app in your phone's app stores. Kindly refer below:
2. Access your Matrixport account and select top left “Me” icon. Once you are in, you will see “Account Security”, select it and you will find “Authenticator Verification”.
3. Once you are in, at the bottom you can select “Next”, you will direct to the key page. Copy the “key” before you proceed to the next step.
*Friendly reminder: This key is used to set up or recover your Microsoft Authentication. Please write it down and store it in a safe place. Do not share the key with others.
4. Open your Microsoft authenticator app, you will reach a page as shown below. Select “+" button to add account, you will direct to the 2nd screenshot below, and select “Other” to enter the code. Select “ Or enter code manually” to add the code.
5. Once you click the button to key in code, you are required to add account name and secret key. User can choose their preferred name as account name, and paste the key copy from Matrixport app into the “Secret key” column. After fill in the 2 column, select “Finish”. Once the account had complete, user will find a new authentication account in Microsoft Authenticator app.
6. You will now have your Microsoft Authenticator code in your Microsoft Authenticator app now. Return to your Matrixport app, go to Account Security, Authenticator set up and press next until you reach a verification page. You will have to verify via phone number and Microsoft Authenticator code. Fill up all that is required and press “Enable” and “Got it”
You have now successfully set up your Microsoft Authenticator!
Note: You can turn off or change your authenticator app anytime you like. However, to secure your assets, you won't be able to withdraw any funds within 24 hours after changing your authenticator app.
